Completely agree with everything averagepolitics has said. By the way have you noticed why we don’t jhear much about anything in Iraq anymore, why our gas prices have dropped, and ect.? Probably because, hmm just a wild guess, the war is PRETTY much over. Troops are coming home and god bless the ones who risked and had their lives taken for us.

I am 14 from Tennessee. Just because your not older, doesn’t mean your not educated and don’t have COMMON SENSE *cough*

I don’t think this war is just about the US. I believe it is about terrorism that happens in many places outside of the US as well. I know the old “we are fighting terrorism” thing is old, but Iraq is actually coming around and establishing a democratic system. There has never been anything like this in Iraq or surrounding countries.

Trust me, we are not throwing a bunch of troops at something to see what works. If our country was 100% behind this, there would be lines of volunteers. You can not win a war with a few thousand troops.

They are also bringing troops home. Throughout the next few months, troops are coming home!!! They are reducing the number of troops in Iraq.

The problem with Obama and the rest of the world, is that no one understands what he stands for. First of all, he wants change, but how will he change? He can never state that clearly. Second, if he wants change so much, why did he choose a VP candidate who is as old politics as any other Washington politician?

I’m happy for the rest of the world and their choice for Obama, but there are things here at home that are more important to the American people. Things like socialist-style programs that the working people have to pay for and never receive any benefit from. Things like the help-the-poor plan that Obama introduced that would funnel BILLIONS of dollars out of the US to the UN to give to struggling countries. Sounds like a good idea, but none of our struggling citizens would ever see a dime of that, and with the huge debt we already have, I don’t think we can afford such plans.

SAVE THE WORLD… Sounds like a nice slogan for everyone, but the US. No one likes the US. They all want us to help here and help there, but no give a damn about us and returning the favor. We ask for help in Iraq, and all we get a few hundred troops… THANKS WORLD!!!

Instead of telling us what we need to do, how about everyone support us in stopping terrorism and installing democratic governments. Where was everyone when Russia walked all over Georgia? SAVE THE WORLD!

- We are doing something about it, WE SHOULDN’T BE. it is not our war and furthermore It shouldnt be your war, its not a competition to see how many gun crazed troops you can send into a battlefield, Its peoples lives and not enough thinking. The stratagy is keep sending as many troops in and holding them there as long as possible.
How is that going to earn the trust of the citys and towns your people are inhabiting, you need their trust and respect to win this war. Co – operation is key, but as you all run in disregarding their feelings you dont get a left bollock from them mate especially while half inching their rescources.
This war needs a think through, it needs strategy not cannon fodder.
A large majority of Americans are still Brainwashed, you are all forced to love a country you know nothing about from a young age, disregarding MANY of the evil things you have done over time. While your blind lead the blind the whole world is in jeopordy.
We fear you MR America – that most of the world, had they been given an opertinity like russell brand – would have done without thinking. We all want obama for president, but as long as you have people writing crass storys about him using words that relate to him that strike fear into your less educated voters such as “Hussain”, “muslim” “PHD”.
He is a man the world trusts, and no one can understand why you dont see it.

Russell brand was a dick though, but nonetheless – Everything he said couldn’t have been more true.

Dave,

I do realize how much we affect the rest of the world. I understand that we are a big player in the world game, and that a lot of other countries, such as Russell Brand’s home, whine a lot about what is going on in the world when they do nothing about it.

As far as YOUR troops fighting for OUR oil. A few thousand troops (if that, some countries sent as little as 25 troops) is just a drop in the bucket for what the US has sent. We have a LOT of troops fighting this war.

Bush has done as much as he can for this country. He has had to deal with a difficult, intricate war, which we are beginning to win, and he has helped the economy here as much as possible.

Bush has also made a lot of mistakes. We are further in debt than ever, and he has made some poor choices in Iraq. He is not perfect by any means, but it doesn’t mean some pinhead from UK should get on OUR TV shows and bash our country.

It is like a parent saying, “I can call my kid a sh*ithead, but if you do, I will kill you!”

We don’t bash your country, why should you bash ours?

You Americans do not realise how much effect you have on the rest of the world. A lot of you Americans don’t ever know there’s a rest of the world.

We have every right in the world to voice our opinions on the presidents as we do not let a false sense of patriotism blind our minds and WE have our people fighting a war for YOUR oil.

What has bush done for your country?

I would actually like an answer, don’t even bring up the war on terrorism. So many of your people have died for this make believe war.

Who cares! I think we have lot more things that are going on in the US than Russell Brand. This is a sad attempt for the media to try to make news out of nothing and the Jonas Brothers aka Hanson to cling to there 15 minutes. The best thing about living in this country is that whether people agree with you or not you have to right to speak you mind. I didn’t agree with everything he said but Russell Brand was pretty funny. And to Jordan Sparks… I am pretty sure your momma and daddy weren’t virgins when they got married so does that make them a slut? Does that make Palin’s daughter a slut? Please are even talking crap about Jesus after he has been dead how long? Why are you allowing people who really have no direct relationship with your life to affect you to this extend? GET OVER IT!

Yes MTV should be ashamed of themselves!! It reallly is a disgrace. I realize comedians are there to poke fun, but, this was out of line. MTV has clearly been trying to get the young votes for Obama for a while now, but, the hit an all time low! MTV knew exactly what this guys was going to say and that’s why they used him to do there dirty work. I must say it seems it has backfired!!
