Barack Obama’s Lack of Confidence Shows

Barack Obama has chosen a running mate!!! The long-anticipated moment has arrived. It is not Hillary. It is Senator Joe Biden, another old white guy.

Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against another old white guy… I am supporting McCain. But as a proponent for change, shouldn’t Obama have picked someone different? He picks a senator that has 30 years of experience, served at various times as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, and has twice sought the White House.

Is this not the complete opposite from Obama’s message of, “Change… you can believe in?” This just reaffirms my idea that Obama is definitely about change: changing his idea, mind, policy, and decisions if he feels it will get more votes. In fact, he has been different than most other candidates. There is not one thing he has stuck by firmly throughout the entire election race.

How will Biden affect Obama’s chances? Well, according to Ron Fournier, an Associated Press writer, Biden said in a 2007 interview on ABC that he said he would stand by an earlier statement that Obama was not ready to serve as president. I guess Obama thought Biden would make him ready.

Chalk another one up for the Democrats… say one thing and do another!

Where is the American Spirit?

I am very distraught that America has lost so much Spirit. We are in the middle of the greatest sporting events in the world, and the U.S. population cares less and less.

Many people have said they don’t care or that the Olympics are stupid. Unfortunately, they know what is happening with VH1 reality shows and what celebrity is in rehab. What is wrong with the U.S.?

I saw an interview from Yao Ming, the center for the Houston Rockets and for the Chinese National Basketball Team. He said it is nice to play in the NBA and make lots of money, but his ultimate dream is to play in the Olympics. That is what is prized in his country. Most countries around the world have similar sentiments, but not the U.S.

We must rekindle our American Spirit. It is what has provided the country we have today. If we don’t, we will see a steady and continual decline of the U.S. as a world power. Think about it…

Gas Prices Are Falling: Should We Be Happy?

Gas prices are starting to fall. In Houston, I have seen as low as $3.59 for regular (it may be even cheaper). I am very thankful they have started to fall, but are they supposed to start making us happy?

Everyone has started backing off of the high-gas complaints. I know it went on for a while, and can get tiresome, especially when Congress takes a recess without doing ANYTHING about it, but why?

A year ago gas was $2.50 a gallon and that was expensive. Now we are still more than a $1 higher, and people are adjusting to it. We must continue to push on our representatives to do something. We must continue to look for alternatives, and we must decrease our foreign oil dependency.

The American society is so right now, it hurts. We are just happy it is not $4 a gallon any more. What happens when there is another crisis: $4.50, $5.00 a gallon? We have to continue to fight our oil dependency!

Is Barack Obama a baby-killer advocate?

I receive emails from various political groups, including Mick Huckabee’s HuckPAC. In the email today, they shared some interesting information about Barack Obama.

“We now know he voted against the state equivalent (in the committee which he chaired) of the federally passed “Born Alive Infants Protection Act.” To put that in perspective, the House and Senate of the U.S. Congress voted unanimously six years ago to pass it and not even NARAL campaigned against it. Yet Barack Obama did in the Illinois legislature.”

What does this mean in regards to the presidential election? What does this mean in regards to Obama?

First let’s review what the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act is:

“The Born-Alive Infants Protection Act states that any baby that has been born alive is to be legally considered a person. As such, she or he would automatically be granted full protection under the U.S. Constitution. Other existing laws require that newborns must receive medical attention as needed. Killing a born-alive infant would be considered murder.(http://www.religioustolerance.org/abo_aliv.htm)”

Although this act passed through the house with only 15 nay votes and unanimously passed through the Senate, Obama could begin pushing for more anti-life legislature. With a Democratic Congress, they would have nothing to hold them back from making it legal to kill whatever. Kill babies, kill old people… the list could get longer with both Congress and the Presidency controlled by liberal, radical Democrats!

I have had debates about these issues with many so-called Democrats. They all say they want to have the choice. It is their body and they should have the choice. I AGREE! They do have the CHOICE! They have the choice to have sex or not… Once you engage in sex, regardless if you are on birth control or use a condom, you still are making the CHOICE. Don’t have sex and you don’t have to worry. If you must have sex, then you have to live with the results of your actions. What is so hard about this? Why must we continue to even entertain this debate on whether it is okay to kill a child?
